FMP: Scarf Designs

I decided to make some scarfs to add another element to my project. I felt the floral designs printed on Silk Habatai would lend them self well to scarf designs.

FMP: Design In Context- Dresses

Prints and design: Lisa Johnson(me)
Dress (constuction): Daniela Marchetta
Photography: John Roy
Styling and Makeup: Lisa Johnson (me)
Model: Alex Nightingale

I wanted to see my prints in context so decided to design these dresses for production. The fabric is silk jersey and lends its self perfectly to the draped backless design.

FMP: Floral Designs

These designs were a continuation on from the geometric floral designs. I had never based a project on flowers before and wanted to see what the designs would look like just as floral patterns. I like the busyness of some of them and the bright clashing colours!

FMP: Florals and Tiles cont...

These are the other floral geometric designs I created for my collection.

FMP: Florals and Tiles

To carry on the 'Bohemian' theme I researched in to bohemia and other elements of the theme to add a different side to the floral theme. I really like Bohemian tiles and all the pretty colours and patterns that are incorporated. The geometric shapes add a twist to your standard floral.
The print above was one of my first attempts but turned out on fabric to be one of my favorites of the collection!

FMP: Bohemian Child (Nicole and Florals)

I'm whizzing through this.... but you only want the interesting bits... so next after extensive drawing and Photoshop work came these colourfull numbers! These graduated florals and incorporating Nicole are my interpretation of Nicole as a Bohemian Child. The Photos show the prints digitally printed on to a heavy silk jersey, which was a nightmare to digitally print on as it has so much stretch in, but I loved the finish of it, it held the bright colours I had chosen beautifully! The fabric its self feels luxurious and drapes amazingly. Perfect for an over sized jersey dress?!

FMP Illustraion Continued...

I wanted the fashion prints I was designing to be for a summer collection, possibly beach wear. The flowers came from the post 'Bohemian child" (http://garypeppervintage.blogspot.com/search?q=bohemian+child). It came more from the word 'Bohemian' I love bohemian fashions, and flowers are often incorporated.
